0005426: Unable to Mount CIFS Drive - Permission Denied
I am not able to mount a CIFS drive under Centos 6.2. The error message I receive is below. Multiple users in our office have reported a similar issue with Centos 6.2, while the Centos 5.x boxes work just fine.

mount error(13): Permission denied
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

This is the command that I use: sudo mount -t cifs //Server/Share /G -o username=USER,sec=ntlmv2

The same command works when I boot into a Centos 6.0 kernel.
Try to mount the CIFS drive under Centos 6.2. It happens every time.

This suggests that the kernel, more specifically the cifs module, is responsible rather than cifs-utils (provided you did not roll back to an earlier version).

The cifs version:
   kernel 2.6.32-71.el6 => 1.63
   kernel 2.6.32-220 => 1.68

What is the output of :

stat /G

Also try increasing debugging by:

echo 7 > /proc/fs/cifs/cifsFYI

and see if useful info gets logged.

Looks like the remote machine is not taking the credentials.

I strongly suggest you try the samba mailing list to get help:

https://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba [^]

It is quite active and samba developers are there all the time. Just provide sufficient info such as the OS, kernel version, cifs version, etc in addition to the description of the problem.
