0001822: red screen displayed during KDE startup

Description

While starting KDE the background turns a "barn" red (a bit brownish) for a few seconds. This is harmless but disconcerting. Can't find any upstream reports on this, and am reluctant to report it there withhout confirmation that this happens on RHEL5 as well.
