Summary |
0003882: nspluginwrapper configuration file is not marked %config |
|
Description |
nspluginwrapper-0.9.91.5-22.el5 has a configuration file /etc/sysconfig/nspluginwrapper but it is not marked %config in spec. That means that eventual updates will clobber that file silently. As an aside at least in nspluginwrapper-1.3.0-6.fc11 from Fedora 11 this defect is fixed.
This happens to have a real life consequences as at this moment apparently the only 64-bit Java plugin for browsers seems to be libnpjp2.so from recent enough
(i.e. above release 12) 64-bit Linux binaries of java-1.6.0-sun. This plugin works just fine but without appending ':libnpjp2*' to IGNORE_WRAP in that configuration file one is bugged by spurious errors from mozilla-config-plugins. |
|
Additional Information |
BTW - nspluginwrapper is missing from "Category" menu on "bugs" web interface.
Anything below release 15 of java-sun should not be used due to security issues and the current release now is 16. |
