.buildstamp on the initrd.img inside the 5.4/os/i386/images/boot.iso (aka CentOS-5.4-i386-netinstall.iso) is NOT the same as the initrd.img from
5.4/os/images/pxeboot/initrd.img
good .buildstamp (same as the one in 5.4/images/stage2.img):
200910021224.i386
bad .timestamp:
200910011423.i386 |

md5sum of the good initrd.img:
1b6049435c34bd58cc665419a17b69a8 5.4/os/i386/images/pxeboot/initrd.img
bad one:
241d76e457e35f3f86976ab61ce56167 isolinux/initrd.img
-> it's the same used in CentOS-5.4-i386-LiveCD.iso (renamed as install.img)
241d76e457e35f3f86976ab61ce56167 install.img |

I've tried two different combinations of mirror and netinstall iso and have gotten this error as well. |

Hi, I too am seeing this issue and have tried multiple 5.4 netinstall ISO images from multiple servers.
Ended up installing from 5.3 netinstall image. |

I think, it makes no sense to point the minor version 5.4 netinstall image installer to the major version 5 path. |

[tru@home 5.4]$ md5sum isos/i386/CentOS-5.4-i386-netinstall.iso os/i386/images/boot.iso
34c9ccca520e7c049768b672c05644a4 isos/i386/CentOS-5.4-i386-netinstall.iso
38b01ccb81bfc16c6544bc11a6211f82 os/i386/images/boot.iso
could you try the boot.iso instead of the netinstall.iso? |

The two files on the 5.4 QA tree show identical md5sums:
34c9ccca520e7c049768b672c05644a4 boot.iso
34c9ccca520e7c049768b672c05644a4 CentOS-5.4-i386-netinstall.iso
I believe those isos work. If this is the case, CentOS-5.4-i386-netinstall.iso on the mirrors is correct and boot.iso is incorrect. ??? |

The proper files have been pushed to the master centos.org servers.
The following md5 checksum should match:
26bf3477c37002528e92b2734ac46816 5.4/os/i386/images/stage2.img
34c9ccca520e7c049768b672c05644a4 5.4/isos/i386/CentOS-5.4-i386-netinstall.iso
34c9ccca520e7c049768b672c05644a4 5.4/os/i386/images/boot.iso |
