| Description |
Since I purchased an Acer AS3810T-354G32n and installed Centos 5.3 no kernel has been able to discover the above mentioned Ethernet controller. Last kernel before the debug version mentioned above was 2.6.18-164.2.1.el5.plusPAE and, as mentioned, continued as the former ones not to see the controller at all. |

CentOS builds kernel from the upstream source. If you wish to request support for new hardware, you need to ask upstream. You might be able to find the driver for your NIC by going for a 3rd party repo. Because the bug tracker is not a support channel, you should use one of the support venues (CentOS forums or mailing lists). Having said that, try reading this ELRepo page ( http://elrepo.org/tiki/DeviceIDs [^] ) and identify the vendor:device ID pairing. You can then see if your NIC is listed there. |

Did you have a chance to find out the info for your NIC and locate the driver ? |
