| Summary | 0003965: Update to postgresql-8.1.15 not released | |||||||||||
| Description |
There is a bug in 8.1.15 that crashes the autovacuum process. Happens mostly on heavily used production data bases, because the crash occurs only after vacuuming a whole database for anti-transaction-wraparound purposes. That means that it occurs infrequently and is hard to track down. It's fixed in 8.1.16, so I hope that you can release an update to the latest version 8.1.18. Is the centosplus pgsql simply a rebuild of the CentOS 5 RPM? |

ftp://updates.redhat.com/enterprise/4AS/en/RHWAS/SRPMS [^] is listing postgresql-8.1.15-1.el4s1.1.src.rpm as the latest one... afaik, the centosplus packages are based on RHWAS not http://www.postgresql.org/ [^] |

Ok, now I understand what Tom Lane has written in 119/22347.1256938526@sss.pgh.pa.us">news://news.gmane.org:119/22347.1256938526@sss.pgh.pa.us [119/22347.1256938526@sss.pgh.pa.us" target="_blank">^] "Red Hat stopped supporting the RHEL-4 App Stack product a while ago; since CentOS is evidently copying that, you should not hold your breath waiting for an update :-( . However, as far as I can see the RHEL-5 SRPM should be completely compatible with RHEL-4 --- so just grab the 8.1.18 SRPM from RHEL-5 and rebuild it locally." So, I don't know what your next steps will be. RPMs are here: http://yum.pgsqlrpms.org/8.1/redhat/rhel-4-x86_64/repoview/ [^] http://yum.pgsqlrpms.org/8.1/redhat/rhel-4-i386/repoview/ [^] http://yum.pgsqlrpms.org/howtoyum.php [^] For me an update to centosplus would be nice. |

It seems that your bugtracker can't parse news URLs correctly. Sorry for that, but gmane.org is an excellent way to read mailing lists you are not subscribed to. |
