| Description | No volume mixer for GNOME appears to be installed by default or, indeed, available via YUM (no gnome-alsamixer?). As a result, when attempting to adjust the volume levels by the 'Volume Control' panel applet, the following error is produced: "Sorry, no mixer elements and/or devices found". It's not a hardware problem as the 'Soundcard detection' program successfully identifies my SB Live! and plays the test sound fine. | |||||||

Was a sound card detected and installed at install time ? is this an update from older version or a fresh install ? |

The soundcard was detected at boot time and it was a fresh install. |

Can you updgrade to CentOS 4 Final and confirm if the problem persists |

The problem appears to be fixed with a fresh install of the Final version. |
