Reproduced problem using Yum extender (which is what I was running when I reported the fault)

Started YUMEX, while it was retrieving/refresing metadata repo info I shut the lid on the laptop waited about 5 secs and opened the lid. YUMEX was still running (the "sleep" screen was not present) and there was no fault

Repeated above after YUMEX had populated the list of files to be updated. Still no problem.

Selected the two update (happen to be openjdk 1.8) and at the point YUMEX began processing the update I shut the lid on the laptop and waited about 5 seconds and reopened the lid. This time the screen lock was active so I entered my credentials and the fault was present. YUMEX was stalled....
