Summary0013783: Dovecot version 2.2.10-7 and the cr repo version 2.2.10-8 need patches or upgrade to newer
DescriptionDovecot version 2.2.10-7 included in the latest CentOS 7 distros and the cr version 2.2.10-8 have a significant bug which makes it not work properly with some plugins. The fix is either to apply the patch shown here: https://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot-cvs/2014-January/024154.html or to update to at least 2.2.11 or newer. I see Fedora is including 2.2.32-2.fc28 in their latest builds. As a result of the bugs I'm having to employ hacks in my plugin code for things to work properly.
Steps To ReproduceIt's reproducible every time due to the version.
Additional InformationI'm hoping someone can at the very least apply the patch to the 2.2.10-8 version but ideally a far newer version like fedora is using would be preferable.

CentOS is a rebuild of RHEL sources so you need to report this upstream on bugzilla.redhat.com and when they fix it, we inherit the fix.

Is there a long delay on these types of issues making it into the updates?

It's entirely up to Redhat whether they implement any fix or not. We have no more clue than you do if they will do it or not.
