Summary0014004: Expose host cpu to ppc64le VMs in the Duffy pool
DescriptionCurrently ppc64le VMs use emulated processors, since Duffy-provided hosts are ephemeral and temporary switching to '--cpu host' will allow for better performance.

So I had a quick look at this and for other ppc64le/ppc64 VMs we deploy in the Infra (outside of CI) we already use the "--cpu host" option through virt-install

From a deployed VM, cat /proc/cpuinfo still shows :
processor : 0
cpu : POWER8 (architected), altivec supported
clock : 2095.000000MHz
revision : 2.0 (pvr 004d 0200)

processor : 1
cpu : POWER8 (architected), altivec supported
clock : 2095.000000MHz
revision : 2.0 (pvr 004d 0200)

timebase : 512000000
platform : pSeries
model : IBM pSeries (emulated by qemu)
machine : CHRP IBM pSeries (emulated by qemu)

While the .xml for the guest has this :

  <cpu mode='host-model' check='partial'>
    <model fallback='forbid'/>
  </cpu>

Opinions on this ?
