Summary0014005: Problem with Desktop
DescriptionI am using Centos 7.4.1708 and since last big update I am facing problems with Desktop. I am using cinnamon-2.8.8-3.el7.x86_64.
First I can not change background picture. Have tried all possible solutions, reseting dconf, reinstalling cinnamon, create other user and so on. The problem appears only on cinnamon, Gnome is fine, it permits me changing background picture.
Second problem is a bit strange, dragging my mouse pointer around desktop area, somewhere without icons, it is like painting blue, I mean my desktop area works like painting area !
I am including screenshot to check it out.
Steps To ReproduceThe same problem appears on both my computers, work and home, so I think it is easy to reproduce.

Forgot to mention another problem also, right clicking any program shortcut or just anywhere on empty desktop space, menu does not appear just aside mouse pointer, but far away from mouse pointer. On attached screenshot I made a right click above right and menu appears bottom left.

I have the same problem. I believe the problem is in Nemo (cinnamon default file manager), temporarily i disabled the nemo and i'm using nautillus (gnome3 default file manager)and the problem does not occur.

Commands:

pkill nemo
nautilus-desktop --force

Thank you ddavid, the commands seems to solve the problem, so nemo is probably the problem. So I suppose I must wait for future updates, or start using gnome till any update fix the issue.
