I am getting the same message Fatal Error/ core dump. I am remotely logged into a CentOS box from my PC and setting the display back to my windows box using the DISPLAY environment variable and the OpenText Exceed app to display the Linux apps. It crashes when the display variable is set. If I unset the display env variable, emacs opens up correctly in a line editor correctly on the Linux box.
