Nothing interesting in Xorg.0.log or gdm's log.

Installed packages:
xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.19.3-11.el7.x86_64
gnome-shell-3.22.3-17.el7.x86_64
gdm-3.22.3-12.el7.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-1.0.13-3.el7.x86_64

Note:
This does not happen on my laptop, with exactly the same package versions.
It only happens on my desktop, which may mean a hardware or driver-specific issue. HardInfo reports this desktop is using nouveau (Gallium 0.4 on NVE7), whereas the laptop uses X.Org (Gallium 0.4 on AMD SUMO) for OpenGL.
Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GT 740.

When Tweaks/Appearance/Enable animations set to "off", shell crashed (and reviving) almost every Alt+Tab press. When this setting turn on, no crashes occur.
