Summary0014078: Build devtoolset-7 packages for aarch64 and ppc64le
DescriptionCurrently, devtoolset-6 packages are built for ppc64le and aarch64 as well as for x86_64. We would like if the same would be true for devtoolset-7.

To avoid needles release bumps, would it be possible to add the new architectures "retroactively" to existing builds? AFAIK that was the case for the aforementioned devtoolset-6.

Ceph is trying to move to devtoolset-7 and this is currently holding us back. Is there an expected timeline? Thanks!

Solved with release bump. aarch64 and ppc64le are available in cbs repos now:
https://cbs.centos.org/repos/sclo7-devtoolset-7-rh-candidate/ppc64le/os
https://cbs.centos.org/repos/sclo7-devtoolset-7-rh-candidate/aarch64/os

and aarch64 are also available on buildlogs:
  yum install centos-release-scl-rh
  yum-config-manager --enable centos-sclo-rh-testing
  yum install devtoolset-7

ppc64le still need to be moved to buildlogs:

I guess we can close this ticket.

Thanks hhorak!

https://www.softwarecollections.org/en/scls/rhscl/devtoolset-7/ says "x86_64" under "Browse files". Can you update that to link to aarch64 as well?

ktdreyer: Unfortunately, not (at least not easily). The link is automatically generated by selecting which combination of architecture and release stage should be displayed, and aarch64 is not currently an option.

jstanek where should I open a ticket to fix that web page so aarch64 and ppc64le show up? (The question of "which arches are available?" up on epel-devel recently.)

ktdreyter: Generaly speaking on GitHub for the web page itself (https://github.com/sclorg/softwarecollections). However, there already is one issue opened for this: https://github.com/sclorg/softwarecollections/issues/101
