|Summary||0014109: Sound card issues in Gnome.|
|Description||On Virtual Machine Manager (libvirt), as the guest is aimed to be used as a server with GUI, the following devices (sound card (the only one), and all present USB Redirectors) attached to the guest have been removed from Hardware panel (while the guest was in state shutdown). |
First issue – Guest booted, despite that there isn't anymore any sound card attached to the guest, Gnome persists to display the right-sided sound volume bar in the desktop top bar menu. Speakers volume intensity is even still adjustable while it should not.
In the GUI Sound settings, in Output tab, Dummy Output is available as device from the Choose a device for sound output list; nevertheless in the present case, that list is expected to be empty.. Even Speaker testing for this device can be conducted successfully, but as expected without output sound.
Second issue – Despite the volume level is set to null, the system persists, no matter be it logged out or rebooted, to set it back automatically to its maximum level.
