Summary0014434: immediate system shutdown just after having entered username and password
DescriptionInstalled Centos 7.2.1511 server from DVD on a hdd free partition. The same box came with a preinstalled Windows 8 system with UEFI boot. Legacy Support has been enabled and Secure Boot disabled. Everything was ok. I was then able to select and boot Windows 8 and Centos at will. And to log and work correctly on the Centos GUI (Gnome).

Afterward I decided to "yum upgrade" to get to Centos 7.4.1708; in a couple of hours my Centos system was correctly upgraded. I tested it a bit, logging out and in again with both, "root" and "regular user". Everything was ok. At the end I shutted down the system. Next day I switched on system, selected Centos. The boot went fine, at the end of this it requested username and password. After entering those, the system suddenly was powered off.

No file system 100% busy.

Digging around I came to know something might have been wrong with the NVIDIA GEForce graphic board. Installed Bubblebee, etc... from elrepo. No change in behavior.

I'd be glad if somebody can help. Thanks in advance !
Steps To ReproduceJust reboot, select Centos on the UEFI boot, and, when requested, enter username and password. The system shuts down (power off) immediately !

Windows 8 works just fine, as earlier.

BTW: last month same kind of installation/upgrade was done on another box (older), no multiboot, though. No issues whatsoever.
