|Summary||0014948: No rpm-package for gcovr in yum-repositories for CentOS 7|
|Description||Dear CentOS-team, |
there is a very useful tool to aggregate gcov-coverage files outthere which is named gcovr. Unfortunately this tool is not available in the yum-repositories of CentOS 7. I suggest to create an RPM-package for this useful tool. The tool is currently only available as source code or via the Python Package Index PyPI (https://pypi.org/project/gcovr/).
There is a way to create RPMs from Python project which is described here: https://docs.python.org/2/distutils/builtdist.html#creating-rpm-packages.
Please let me know if I can support you in terms of creating and providing the RPM.

|CentOS is a rebuild of the upstream RHEL and only contains those packages that are part of RHEL. In order to get new packages into CentOS you would need to get them into RHEL first. You're more likely to have better luck trying to get this into the Fedora EPEL third party yum repo.|
