|Summary||0015227: MarketPlace AMI Price Change Risk|
|Description||I was thinking of using the CentOS AMIs as a base for our custom AMIs. However, being that they are marketplace AMIs at $0.00 - it is a concern to people at our company that the price could change at some point in the future. Then any new launches would be charging and any running instances would start charging in 90 days. We have way too many Amazon accounts and development teams to have this risk.|
I would like to suggest:
1) That the CentOS AWS wiki page (https://wiki.centos.org/Cloud/AWS) be updated to clearly state whether it is the intention of CentOS.org for these to be forever free.
2) That for the above reason (and the many others I read on the forum) that the Marketplace not be used - I wouldn't be able to convince anyone to take this risk regardless of what it says on your wiki page.
