Summary0015300: Kernels from 2.6.32-696.30.1.el6.x86_64 Not Recognizing Partition Changes - cloud-init growroot silently fails to expand FS
DescriptionWe first noticed this on our custom AMI build that builds Amazon AMIs from scratch on AWS.

I then verified it on the CentOS.org Marketplace AMIs.

We have confirmed the problem with both of these kernels:
2.6.32-696.30.1.el6.x86_64
2.6.32-754.3.5.el6.x86_64
Steps To Reproduce1. Launch latest CentOS.org 6.x AMI from the marketplace - choose a disk size larger that 8 GB.
2. Login and run 'lsblk'.
3. Observe that the file system did not expand to the partition size.
4. Observe no errors in console boot log (because the cloud-init growroot thinks there is nothing to do)
