|Summary||0015557: Request for Description Setter plugin|
To make our CI jobs more user-friendly, we'd like to dynamically set the description of our jobs
based on information from the build log. Right now the only way how to do that is to use
a Groovy script, which, however, requires authorization from a Jenkins admin. A better
solution (at least in my opinion) is offered by the Description Setter plugin. Could you,
please, consider adding it to the existing plugins collection?

These are freestyle jobs, correct? If so have you considered converting to pipeline jobs?
In pipeline you can say `currentBuild.description = 'Whatever-you-want'` and it sets the description appropriately.
I'm hesitant to add a new plugin that does a lot of logfile post-processing to the central master but I'll take a look at this to see how heavy it is.
|I was looking for a way to do it without plugins and I completely missed this one, thanks! I completely understand your concerns about a yet another plugin, so feel free to disregard this request, as I'd rather go the *native* way.|
