Summary0015633: Mouse wheel stops working after clicking on the Application Launcher menu or anything else on the KDE Panel that takes focus
DescriptionMouse wheel stops working after clicking on the Application Launcher menu or anything else on the KDE Panel that takes focus from the active window away - after returning to the active window.

To restore functionality, one has to switch the active window (either through Alt-Tab or the Panel) to another window - and back.
Steps To Reproduce1.Open a window when mouse wheel has use.
2.Open anything on the KDE Panel (like Application Launcher menu) that takes focus away from the active window.
3.Close it to return to the active window.

-> Mouse wheel no longer works.

7.5.1804 is no longer supported. Please update to the current version, 7.6.1810, and see if the problem persists.

[i@localhost ~]$ cat /etc/centos-release
CentOS Linux release 7.6.1810 (Core)

The bug tracker does not offer product version 7.6.1810. The only one I could select was 7.5

I actually found out:
- KDE programs (Apper, Korganizer, Konsole, KDE System Monitor, System Settings) work fine
- Gnome programs (Evolution, Gnome System Monitor, Calculator, Terminal, Application Installer) do not
- Xfce programs (Xfce Terminal, Mousepad) do not
- Xterm works, Thunderbird works, KeePassX works
- LibreOffice does not, Firefox does not

Is this running on a real machine, not a virtual machine? Do you see any hints or errors in /var/log/messages or /var/log/Xorg.0.log ?

A real machine.

I also noticed that while in Gnome Calculator the wheel button does not scroll vertically, it does work for changing selections in those "comboboxes" (in Advanced calculator Mode). In Firefox neither vertical scrolling nor tab-panel scrolling works.

Logs - no interesting errors/warnings except this one maybe:

Is this unique to KDE or do you have the same problem with gnome?

Do you see the same issue with a different mouse? Or different USB port (assuming this is a USB mouse) ?

Any mouse, any USB port.
It is KDE specific - specifically KDE panel causes it ; not Gnome nor Xfce panel ; nor anything else.
