Summary0015740: kernel memory leak when performing xenstore operations
DescriptionThe CentOS 6.10 kernels (and RHEL 6.10) all have a memory leak that occurs with every operation on the /proc/xen/xenbus file. These operations can happen whenever CentOS 6.10 is running as a VM on any Xen system (the open source Xen Project and XenServer).
Steps To Reproduce1. install CentOS 6.10 as a VM on Xen
2. install Xen guest tools
3. run any xenstore operation (e.g. xenstore-ls data)
4. observe Sunreclaim (/proc/meminfo) climb until the kernel consumes all of memory and the OOM killer has killed all of users pace
Additional InformationOpened with RHEL as well at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1661666
I have also opened a support case with RHEL. They have created a patch which I have validated. It is not in a released kernel.
