|Target Version||Fixed in Version|
|Summary||0015743: etcd package included is downrev with known defects that affect CPU consumption|
|Description||The etcd package distributed with the latest CentOS 7.6.1810 is still at etcd-3.2.22-1. This version of etcd contains two defects that cause large CPU consumption when the etcd server connection is lost: https://github.com/etcd-io/etcd/issues/9578 and https://github.com/etcd-io/etcd/issues/9740. Fixes to correct the defects were merged into the etcd code base in June of 2018. |
When we use the 3.2.22 version of etcd with our application we launch the etcd proxy on several systems and the etcd server on one system. When we shut down the etcd server the CPU consumption on the systems running etcd proxy jumps to 223%.
I'd like to request upgrading the version of etcd bundled with CentOS to eliminate this issue.
|Steps To Reproduce||Break connection to etcd server|
|@pharper, if I'm reading the changelog correctly, this should be fixed by the rebase to 3.3.11, can you verify?|
|We found the issue to be fixed in the 3.2.26-1 src rpm file (etcd-3.2.26-1.el7.src.rpm). Hopefully there was no regression between 3.2.26 and 3.3.11. 8^)|
