Descriptionhave to upgrade the server's specifications that needed the server to restart. After restart, and selecting the latest kernel, we can't bring eth0 to up. After further investigation, if we using the old kernel, we finally can put the eth0 to up again.

problems when loading 2.6.32-754.6.3.el6.x86_64 kernel.
In /var/log/messages file server, following error: "Device eth0 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization”

it's an issue with the virtualization itself, I have found quite a few articles that denote the issue is with the i2c_piix4 module, which does look to be loaded currently:
====================

i2c_piix4 11232 0

Additional Informationactually we are upgrading the server resource and restart the server. but before that we are using auto update kernel and already updated to latest kernel 2.6.32-754.6.3.el6.x86_64.
after reboot and system up, somehow we cant bring eth0 state up. turn back using the old kernel version 2.6.32-696.13.2.el6.x86_64, voila, we can bring eth0 up.
