DescriptionI am unable to install CentOS8 to a Dell R510. It cannot see the RAID as an installation destination, it is blank.
Retried with CentOS7 minimal and no issues, RAID Virtual Drive is shown.

Can you expand this bug report with the Make/Model of the Raid controller (PCI IDs), and driver used?

Upstream RedHat deprecated and removed a lot of older hardware and driver support. Yours is likely on that list.

To the best of my understanding, CentOS's kernel is going to follow upstream in that regard. The kernel-plus package is where these those drivers may be re-enabled, as it's not bound to following upstream's compatibility requirements. Please validate if kernel-plus currently support your hardware, otherwise amend your ticket to get it enable in kernel-plus (for which the the PCI IDs / driver information will be needed).

If you show us the device IDs of the hardware in question (as seen in the output from "lspci -nn"), we can provide more precise advice.

As you will see in the first link @revident referenced, you may need a drivers update disk for your hardware to install CentOS 8.

I have the same issue with my raid 1 and raid 10 arrays won't show up as install locations.

The two cards report on this ticket have drivers that are still present in the upstream RHEL Kernel.
But as per the RHEL release notes linked, those specific cards/IDs have been dropped from those drivers.
I do see drivers disks listed at elrepo for both those drivers.

After which, are these fellows expected to stick with the driver disks, or switch over to using kernel-plus (assuming the IDs get enable / drivers amended).

Yes, that is correct.

The driver disk will install the relevant kmod package. It's supposed to survive kernel updates as far as the latest version of dracut is installed. And yes, users can choose to switch to the plus kernel. If the device in question is missing in the plus kernel, a request may be made in the bug tracker.

[UPDATE] I missed one important note. When updating the OS from 8.0 to the upcoming release 8.1, ELRepo's kmod packages must be updated to their .el8_1 version. If you have switched to the kernel-plus while on 8.0, you may want to uninstall the kmod package and no further action is required when updating to 8.1.

If that is the case how would i go about installing CentOS 8 on the server?

I am new to using CentOS so I dont know how to install drivers before the os is installed.
P.S. The only option for drives on this server have to go through the raid card.

You need to create a driver update disk (usually on a USB stick) using the DUD iso image from ELRepo:
