Summary | 0017185: Text User Interface does not prompt correctly during setting of root password on initial-setup.
Description | I've installed a minimal CentOS 8 system, and I'm using initial-setup to gather network, locale, and root password information on first boot. When the user attempts to configure the root password, they are not appropriately prompted, and errors are not displayed until a matched pair of passwords are given. Then all prompts and errors previously accumulated are displayed. See attached screenshot. initial-setup reports version 0.3.62.1, anaconda reports version 29.19.1.13.
Steps To Reproduce | touch /.unconfigured systemctl enable initial-setup reboot On next boot, initial-setup wizard is presented in text mode. User select to change root password. The only prompt given is Password: or Password (confirm). When entering mismatched passwords, no error is given, and a Password: prompt is offered again.
