That is a question for the LINUX distro maintainer.
They are responsible for system-specific adjustments.

Note that the maillog_file feature requires that POSTFIX manages
logfile rotation, or that the system logrotate tool notifies Postfix
when logs are rotated. Otherwise there will be massige loss of
logging.
