Summary | 0017670: flatpack: messes with standard ~/.local/share/applications mechanism
Description | Hello, the Gnome web site [https://developer.gnome.org/integration-guide/stable/desktop-files.html.en] states that .desktop file standard search path includes .local/share/applications Yet file /etc/profile/flatpak.sh breaks it. From what I understand, the existing components of XDG_DATA_DIRS are modified to always include "flatpak/exports/share", but the actual ".local/share" is lost. May I suggest that, when using flatpak, you put everything you want in front of XDG_DATA_DIRS, but keep .local/share ? This way the applications managed by flatpak are prioritized, but legacy applications are still seen. Regards Pascal Dupuis
