|Summary||0017803: "ipmitool raw 0x06 0x22" command get's hanged|
|Description||I am using Centos 7 with rt patch 3.10.0-693.2.2.rt56.623.el7.x86_64 on my system. I have also enabled the IPMI watchdog and set the timer to 5 mins. What I have seen that the system randomly goes for a reboot and with my investigation I found that it is rebooting due to the watchdog timeout. I am servicing the watchdog every 10 seconds with the "ipmitool raw 0x06 0x22" command. Further investigation shows me that the ipmitool command get's stuck and doesn't complete and since this get's hanged I am not able to service the watchdog resulting in a system reboot. |
I have verified this with disabling the watchdog and the issue goes away. While, researching I found similar bug related to IPMI which was fixed by redhat https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1090619.
Can anyone tell me if the fix provided by redhat is available in the Centos version I am using? If not, then can a patch be provided for this issue.
