Summary0017886: Intel LAN connection is not recognized
DescriptionDear CentOS team members,

the reported problem is that my LAN connection is not recognized on MB Gigabyte B460M D3H.

The command lspci -nn | grep -i Ethernet
gives 00:1f.6 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection (12) I219-V [8086:0d55]

then
rpm -qa kernel uname -a
kernel-3.10.0-1160.el7.x86_64

then
grep -i 8086 /lib/modules/*/modules.alias | grep -i 0d55
blank line

As far as I can notice from CentOSFAQ, the Intel I219-V controllers use e1000e driver which is there in the latest CentOS7 kernel. May I ask you to add support in the future release for the Intel card that I describe here?

Thank you!

It's also supported by CentOS 8 out of the box.

CentOS is a rebuild of the sources used to create RHEL. We do not modify anything except to remove branding and logos. You will need to submit your request to Redhat via bugzilla.redhat.com and if/when RH accepts it and incorporates it into RHEL and releases a patched version, then CentOS will pick it up and rebuild it.
However given the current stage of maintenance for RHEL 7, your request will probably be rejected and the practical solution is the one recommended by tru .

I confirm that the current version, kmod-e1000e-3.8.4-2.el7_8.elrepo, does support device [8086:0d55].

Many thanks!
The proposal to install kmod-e1000e-3.8.4-2.el7_8.rpm had resolved the problem.
