|Summary||0018139: Installing centos-release-stream removes all centos repos|
|Description||A recent update to centos-release-stream removes centos-release and centos-linux-repos but does not add the dependency for centos-stream-repos. This means that installing centos-release-stream on a CentOS 8 machine will remove all CentOS servers and the gpgkeys. The user must manually install the centos-stream-repos and centos-gpg-keys RPMs from a mirror in order to recover and distrosync.|
|Steps To Reproduce||Fresh install of CentOS 8.|
dnf install centos-release-stream
Try to distrosync or install anything with dnf from the CentOS repos.
|Additional Information||It appears to be with the most recent 8.5-1 release of centos-release-stream. The fix probably be adding a dependency on centos-stream-repos and having centos-stream-repos obsolete centos-linux-repos|

It looks like I was following older instructions. The ones here work fine: https://www.centos.org/centos-stream/
The older instructions on installing the new release and distrosync will leave a system without repos. Adding the centos-stream-repos as a dependency for centos-stream-release would save some trouble for poor folks like me stuck in the past.
