Summary | 0018179: In http_filters:ap_http_header_filter, 304 responses get special treatment, in that they're sent with only a fixed set of header
Description | In http_filters:ap_http_header_filter, 304 responses get special treatment, in that they're sent with only a fixed set of headers (if present): https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=61820#c23 Due to this we are unable to use CORS. This has been fixed on latest apache (2.4.47) : https://downloads.apache.org/httpd/Announcement2.4.html Can we expect the fix to be included in a future release (2.4.6 - 98.el7.centos ) ?

CentOS linux by itself is just a rebuild of the sources provided by Red Hat so it will not distribute a newer package unless RH does this. And given that RHEL 7 is in maintenance mode and basically only important security fixes are now accepted, they will probably not do it. But you can and should report the issue via a bug opened at bugzilla.redhat.com and hope that RedHat will fix this. If this happens, the fix will automatically propagate to CentOS. The alternate - more practical - solution is to switch to using a different, more recent package, like the ones shipped in the IUS repository. In this moment I i only see that they include only 2.4.43 and 2.4.46 but I am sure that if needed they will upgrade it; all it takes is to open a bug ( RFE actually ) and properly justify your request. Keep in mind, of course, that in this case you give up the changes introduced by RH and will rely entirely on what the Apache Foundation and IUS do. |

Thank you very much for your help, i will proceed to report the issue via a bug opened at bugzilla.redhat.com!
It will be mostly useless but it still will be nice if you link this bug here with the one you open at b.r.c ( they have a dedicated field for that )
ok i did that :) | |
thank you for being a decent netizen
