Summary0001860: wpa_supplicant is not compatible with NetworkManager-gnome
DescriptionWhen I use the standard versions from CentOS 5 I cant connect to my wireless network with NetworkManager. extract from /var/log/messages below. With an older version from fedora everything is fine (wpa_supplicant-0.5.7-1.fc7.x86_64.rpm).
cheers

I can confirm this. I am using the zd1211rw driver, and wpa_supplicant works fine by itself, and with wifi-radar and wicd. Actually, wicd does most of what NM is supposed to do, including confining root privilege to a daemon process accessed via dbus (wifi-radar runs as root - a mite dangerous given that user can enter arbitrary commands for pre and post connection). Wicd even does wired. I like it because it is written in python, so it is easy to understand and modify.
