Summary0002246: blacklist module in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist does not work
DescriptionAfter adding blacklist pcspkr in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist the module is still loading and could be seen with lsmod
Additional InformationI was trying to disablr system beep and one of the ways I found is to remove pcspkt module.
After I remove it manually with rmmod it is successfull, but when I try to blacklist it it does load anyway.

NOTE: I'm not sure for the cetegory.

CAN SOMEBODY ADD CentOS 5 in product version

I think this is not a bug. In RHEL/Centos this function is achieved by adding the following line to /etc/modprobe.conf:

alias <drivername> off

In your case, that would be "alias pcspkr off".

You could try to add

install pcspkr /bin/true

to the blacklist file as well.
