not enough information: which architecture i386/x86_64? which version of 5.x ?
does memtest works? does any other linux distrib works? you need to provide more informations.... For the moment, it's more a support question than a bug.
Could you take this to one of the CentOS community support venues, e.g.
If you want help start here http://wiki.centos.org/GettingHelp
I have a machine with the same motherboard (Asus m2npv-vm) that has been running CentOS for a few years. As Tru said, the install problem is most likely not due to a bug.
I'll try x86, and x64 - they all crashes with this error.
Centos 5.2, memtest works fine, but rescue console, text mode and etc - failed.
At this moment on this server works FC6, and after work day I can try run other distro.
Well, Ubuntu and Bnoppix boots fine.
If you need any other information, please, tell me.
try 5.3 not the deprecated 5.2
So CentOs 5.2 is officially deprecated?
Yes. Once a new point release is out, the older one is not supported anymore and does not get any security updates either.
