There was a mailing list inquiry, when this was 'floated' as to how this integrates with CentOS' approach on the updater changes we need to make, in light of the non-free nature of the RHN management backend

What is your proposal?

These packages also work with spacewalk, the free upstream of RHN.

Some branding and defaults would need to be stripped from rhn-client-tools-1.0.0-61.el6.src.rpm

no patches, I see and no enumeration of the branding and defaults changes

This topic surfaced on the spacewalk list today, and at least as to the 'backsplatter' issue, of probing the upstream's servers, this seems to have been addressed:

> Miroslav, is rhn-setup free of such backsplatter? If you so

The rhn-client-tools got the following change in 2009:

        -serverURL=https://xmlrpc.rhn.redhat.com/XMLRPC
        +#serverURL=https://xmlrpc.rhn.redhat.com/XMLRPC
        +serverURL=https://enter.your.server.url.here/XMLRPC

Seeking clarity form that mailing list as to strange Changelog results as to the target candidates to analyze and build
