Summary0005130: vmplayer crashes
Descriptionvmplayer 3.0 and 3.1 crash at start. This was a known Fedora 12 problem,
and the fix is the same with CentOS--disable the vmware copy of libcurl:

mv /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libcurl.so.4/libcurl.so.4 \
/usr/lib/vmware/lib/libcurl.so.4/libcurl.so.4.NOUSE

and, optionally, so you know what is happening,

ln -s /usr/lib64/libcurl.so.4 /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libcurl.so.4/libcurl.so.4

so vmware falls back to loading the one in /usr/lib64. I thought this got fixed in F12 (it had certainly gotten fixed in F13). There is NOTHING on the web about this, so I am very lucky I had run into it on F12 and remembered.
