|Summary||0005282: rhgb does not switch to console on errors|
|Description||When a file system can not be properly mounted during boot, rhgb normally switches to the console so that the user can see the error message and login using the root password for e.g. running fsck.|
It may be possible that this is also not done when some other errors occur later during the boot process.
What happens instead is that the eclipse (white ring) keeps on spinning. In the inside the ring is filled more and more.
Additional question: why is there nothing to click on to switch from rhgb to the console? Ctrl-Alt-F1 also does not work any longer (compared to CentOS 5).
|Steps To Reproduce||Surely you don't want to damage a file system for reproducing. I suggest to modify a line in /etc/fstab so that the kernel stumbles upon it.|
|Additional Information||My system uses HD3000 for graphics (integrated in Xeon E3-1275)|

This bug report is about CentOS 6.1 (6.0 with cr repo) I don't know why project is set to CentOS-4.
Since the rhgb design is modified for CentOS I did not report this issue to the upstream provider yet.
|You probably did not select "CentOS 6" when submitting the report? Anyway it's been moved to the intended category.|
