Summary0005589: .treeinfo on minimal x86_64 iso lacks kernel entry
DescriptionThe .treeinfo (see 'treeinfo' attachment) file on the 'minimal' iso simply lacks a 'kernel' entry under [images-x86_64]. If you do a 'virt-install --location=...', where location is the 'minimal' iso loopback-mounted,you will get a complaint about the missing 'kernel' entry (and you won't get a VM).
Steps To ReproduceAs outlined.
Additional InformationDoing the exact same thing but with the DVD1 iso works fine (its .treeinfo has a 'kernel' entry in the right place).

One bypass for this is just to copy the contents of the minimal CD to disk and edit .treeinfo yourself and add the missing line

kernel = images/pxeboot/vmlinuz

to both the [images-x86_64] and [images-xen] stanzas. Tested and works for me so this can be used even if the real bug never gets fixed.

I don't see an ability to vote for an issue, so this is my +1.

If someone wants to mentor me, I'd be happy to learn how to fix this. Are there "getting started in contributing" docs to which I could be pointed? Or is it even possible to fix this in CentOS since it is an upstream problem?

6.8's .treeinfo on the minimal.iso is:

[general]
version = 6.8
arch = x86_64
family = CentOS
packagedir =
timestamp = 1463897099.73
discnum = 1
variant =
totaldiscs = 1

[images-x86_64]
kernel = images/pxeboot/vmlinuz
initrd = images/pxeboot/initrd.img

[images-xen]
kernel = images/pxeboot/vmlinuz
initrd = images/pxeboot/initrd.img

[stage2]
mainimage = images/install.img

I believe this is correct?
