Summary0006163: mkfs.ext3 locks up computer
DescriptionI'm running a pair of Compaq DL380's with shared SCSI storage. After configuring a disk with HP's array configuration utility on the shared SCSI storage, attempts to format the partition as ext3 start and never return.

Steps To ReproduceSteps to reproduce
-Installed Centos 6.2 minimal and rebooted.
-login as root user. Yum update to get current. Install HP tools
-reboot.
-Verified fdisk, e2fsprogs were installed.
-Create disk using HP's array configuration utility.
-Reboot server so the new partition is recognized. (not required on this hardware)
-login and switch to root
-check for presence of new partition with "ls /dev/cciss/*"
-mkfs.ext3 /dev/cciss/c0d2p1 and the system never returns. Must force reboot. Nothing in /var/log/messages
