Summary0006179: libvirt: no pool with matching name 'default'. Directory /etc/libvirt/storage does not exist.
DescriptionOn an updated centos6 machine with no libvirt-Software installed and with no GUI, install the packages qemu-kvm libvirt and python-virtinst.
Reboot the machine or start the needed daemons (libvirtd, ...)
Login and start virsh
Now using virsh try do create an harddisk-image for a new virtual machine:
virsh # vol-create-as default moodle01.qcow2 10G --format qcow2
you will get the error message:
error: failed to get pool 'default'
error: Storage pool no found: no pool with matching name 'default'
Steps To Reproduce1. Install Centos6, take minimal installation without any GUI.
2. Update the maschine!
3. Login als root
4. Install qemu-kvm libvirt python-virtinst:
# yum install qemu-kvm libvirt python-virtinst
5. Reboot the machine
6. Login als root
7. starting virsh:
# virsh
8. Try do create an hd-image:
virsh # vol-create-as default moodle01.qcow2 10G --format qcow2

1. Install the package virt-manager
2. Login to the centos-Server coming from a host with gui installed by using
ssh -X ...
3. starting virt-manager
4. stop virt-manager
5. Directory /etc/libvirt/storage and file /etc/libvirt/storage/default.xml exists!

Additional InformationWhy should I be forced to install a clicky-dicky-Programm (virt-manager) on a
Centos-Host without GUI, do get additional files and directories!!
