Summary0007461: Minimal & Network installations fail on several places
DescriptionThese have been tried on VirtualBox latest version

Installation:
1) The repository URL must be entered manually in the install phase which very cumbersome

Post-installation:

2) No default repositories are installed in /etc/yum.repos.d

3) wget missing. Due to #2 it must be installed manually by uploading the .rpm

All this makes installation from "minimal" or "network-install" a nightmare with a lot of unnecessary manual/difficult work.

WRT " The repository URL must be entered manually in the install phase which very cumbersome"
The minimal iso does not need any URL at all. All the needed packages are included in the ISO. If it behaves differently for you.. you are doing something wrong.
The network installer always needed an URL to be provided.

"No default repositories are installed in /etc/yum.repos.d"
The centos-release package installs all the default repositories. If they do not exist on your system.. that would be odd, given that centos-release is a package which always gets installed. I'd start by investigating why was that package not installed ( or not completely installed ).

"wget missing. Due to 0000002 it must be installed manually by uploading the .rpm"
The set of packages that gets installed by the minimal ISO is exactly the same one as selecting the "Minimal" option from the other ISOs.The group of packages is exactly the same as defined by RHEL. If you are not happy with this absence, please go to bugzilla.redhat.com and suggest them to include it. But remember it is MINIMAL not "ALMOST MINIMAL, it has some additional features which some random users would like to have".
And last but not least, if you are not happy with the set of packages installed by default, you can create your own kickstart and adjust the list of packages according to your needs and preferences. Or, obviously you can use yum install $PACKAGENAME to install whatever package you miss.
