Summary | 0007650: UEFI or EFI repeated 99x entries created in Kernel 3.10.0-123.6.3 |
---|
Description | When updating CentOS 7.0 from any kernel to latest 3.10.0-123.6.3, multiple UEFI or EFI BIOS boot entries are created. The entries are unknown to the user, until further looking into BIOS boot options. Each cold boot of a machine recreates a duplicate set of BIOS boot options, thus duplicating enteries until MAX (99). The PC acts as normal, yet creates new UEFI or EFI enteries multiple times over. |
---|
Steps To Reproduce | Update to 3.10.0-123.6.3, restart machine several times, look into boot order in BIOS or upon start-up hit F12 for start-up devices. |
---|
Additional Information | efibootmgr can delete the multiple entries; however after every so often after boot entries are repeated, one must re-delete recreated entries. If newly created entries are deleted those devices will not boot properly or not boot selected device. |
