I'd disagree re sosreport being a waste of time. RedHat can (and does) use sosreport output, even when it is from a CentOS machine.

Yes, you are right, Red Hat can use sosreport output. But correct me if I am wrong, you can report to Red Hat Bugzilla only from a CentOS machine and the Bugzilla bug assignee will ask you for additional input if needed.

I filed this bug report with the purpose to save CentOS users some computer resources, but I know almost nothing about bug reporting on CentOS, so please take this bug report as an informative note.
