Summary0000840: PHP compiled without GD support
DescriptionPHP has been compiled without GD support. GD 2 is installed:
# rpm -qa gd
gd-2.0.28-4

But "jpgraph" reports:

JpGraph Error This PHP installation is not configured with the GD library.
Please recompile PHP with GD support to run JpGraph. (Neither function
imagetypes() nor imagecreatefromstring() does exist)

Running

  phpinfo();
  phpinfo(INFO_MODULES);

on a CentOs 3.4 box yields:

GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.12 compatible)
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with freetype
GIF Read Support enabled
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled
XBM Support enabled

but on a CentOs 4 box it yields nothing for GD.

Running phpinfo() on a CentOs 3.4 box shows that the Configure Command
includes:

'--with-gd' '--enable-gd-native-ttf'

but on CentOs 4.0 it shows:

'--with-gd=shared' '--enable-gd-native-ttf'

Help! This is major! It means I cannot run CentOs 4.0 "out of the box" which
is what I am hoping to do.

Keep up the great work guys, you're doing a fab job.

Have you installed the package:

php-gd

My phpinfo() says:

gd
GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.28 compatible)
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with freetype
GIF Read Support enabled
GIF Create Support enabled
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled
XBM Support enabled

use the command:

yum install gd php-gd

Many thanks for the update. I didn't get the chance to install this package.

I chose "custom" install and the COMPLETE list of ticks on the installation
page was:

Desktops
        None
Applications
        Editors (default)
Servers
        Server Configuration Tools (Default)
        Webserver
                httpd
                tux
                crypto-utils
                httpd-manual
                mod_auth_mysql
                mod_perl
                mod_ssl
                php
                php-mysql
                webalizer
        Mail Server
                sendmail
                dovecot
                sendmail-cf
                spamassassin
                squirrelmail
        FTP Server
                vsftpd
        MySQL Database
                mysql
                mod_auth_mysql
                mysql_server
                php-mysql
        Development Tools
                Base ONLY (remove all ticks)

Having chosen to install php I would have expected php-gd to have also been
installed. This was the behaviour in CentOs 3.

I'll install this package and see what happens. Many thanks for the quick
reply, I guess you guys have had a very busy time lately! Keep it up!
